The 2017 Cacao World Summit presents the latest advances in scientific and commercial scientific research and will be filled to capacity at 500 participants including technicians, researchers, general managers, agricultural division managers, technical managers, producers, exporters, and representatives of the world cocoa sector.
A Sweet Meeting that Generates Big Business
The 5th Cacao World Summit takes place from August 30 to September 1, 2017, in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. The Summit aims to continue strengthening the scientific and commercial level of the cocoa industry worldwide. The summit brings together all those involved in the cocoa sector to discuss issues of production, technology, marketing, and industrialization.
Cacao World Summit—Technical Congress
The event features more than 15 lectures on technological advances and innovation in the soil, fertilizer, diseases, genetics, quality, among other industry, focused topics. Speakers include national and international professionals, scientists, and researchers who will speak during two days of intense lectures. In addition, the Congress has forums on problems and opportunities that concern the cocoa sector.
The 2017 World Cocoa Summit is the industry pioneering event that features companies related to the industry of cocoa, generating real business opportunities for the short-, medium-, and long-term. This year the "Aromas del Ecuador" Business Roundtable is organized by PRO ECUADOR. The 2017 World Cocoa Summit is the ideal place for negotiations and meetings among the businessmen of Cocoa.
Attendees of the Congress have the benefit of registering and participating in a field event, where they will visit an exclusive hacienda where they will be able to put into practice what they learned during the lectures.
Competition "Pepa de Oro"
The 2017 World Cocoa Summit will also have a dedicated competition area for cacao pods and all sorts of chocolate derivatives such as cocoa liquor, cacao butter, and of course, chocolate. The competition will be judged by a professional panel of Ecuadorian judges.
Coffee you say? Why yes... The 5th National Barista Championship, endorsed by World Coffee Events (WCE), will take place within the framework of the World Cocoa Summit—Aromas of Ecuador 2017. The barista competition focuses on the promotion of coffee excellence and the development of the profession of the barista, a growing phenomenon here in Ecuador. Internationally and nationally certified judges will evaluate the performance f the barista including the taste of beverages served, cleanliness, creativity, technical ability and general presentation. The winning barista will represent the country in the World Baristas Championship in 2018 to be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The 2017 Cacao World Summit also presents a specialized business conference organized by PRO ECUADOR through which Ecuador announces and promotes the best of its production of coffee, cocoa, and chocolate. During the 2017 Cacao World Summit, Aromas of Ecuador will bring together domestic producers and exporters with international companies interested in acquiring the Ecuadorian premium exportable offer. During the 2016 event, new business opportunities of at least USD $15,100,000 were generated, with the participation of at least 21 invited buyers from the following countries: Canada, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Spain, France, Holland, Italy, UK, Sweden, Turkey, China, South Korea, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
