Chocolate Tasting Night at the Mariscal Foch

The chocolate tasting night was held the last Saturday evening in March of 2017 and featured prestigious chocolatiers such as Villa Kuyaya, Angovi, Conexion, Minka & Idaly Farfán.

The event was an intimate gathering in the Mariscal Foche district in Quito's tourist district and featured some of Ecuador's most famous chocolate royalty — or as someone kindly referred them as 'the chocolate mafia.' It was a low-key evening with lots of socializing, a little wine, some alcohol-free chicha and of course, some chocolate liquor.

Needless to say, the samples were exquisite and the displays were simply elegant. My favorite jewel of the night was the chocolate covered Uvillas—a great combination of chocolate and a semi-tart native fruit.

Below are photos from the event—stay tuned for more details as we interview these amazing chocolatiers!
